Should there be retirement age?

 When should people be made to retire? 55? 65? Should there be a compulsory retirement age?

Introduction

Many countries impose a labour rule that employees are entitled to have their retirement once they reach 65 years old. Some people feel that this rule should be strictly enforced; however, others believe that it should be optional and they should be given a chance to decide for themselves. This essay will examine whether people should be allowed to continue working as long as they want or they should be made to retire at a particular stage.

Why should not be forced?

• They have experience and potential to serve the country. To illustrate, in fields like politics, research, science, acting, singing, painting they can do better than youngsters, so these fields need them
• They have long vision and can take some better decision sometimes. .( for example, their long vision can take better decision for a nation whereas a young blood can go aggressive way in solving some political issues )
• Older employees are often more loyal employees and are more committed to implement company policies than youngsters.
• They have their own right to work until they can.

Why should they make to be retired?

• Physically or mentally not so strong as young. Get tired or exhausted earlier than young.
• They are not quite as flexible as youngsters in learning new technology.
• Their retirement will generate more opportunity and options for jobs for youngsters.
• Older people should be rewarded by society for their life’s labour by being given generous pensions and the freedom to enjoy their leisure.

Conclusion

To recapitulate, fixed retirement is a good idea not for the companies or societies only but also for the senior people as well as it will allow them to enjoy their leisure and provide them a chance to rest. So I support the idea to enforce the fixed retirement age on people after 65 but of course excluding few certain fields where their role cannot be replaced by youngsters.
