Some people believe that all children should learn a foreign language from the time the start school, while others feel it is better to wait until a child is at secondary school. Discuss both the sides and give your own opinion.

Introduction

In today’s globalized economy, the ability to speak a second language is more useful than ever before. While some believe that children should only start to learn a foreign language at secondary school, I side with those who feel the learning process should begin the moment children enter the education system.

(To write a band 7 introduction follow this :
1. Introduction should be of 2 sentences. (To showcase your GRA)
2. Second sentence should be a complex sentence with paraphrasing of a question and a clear opinion. The bold letters here will help you to form such sentence.)

Body Passage 1
On the one hand, it could be argued that the study of foreign languages should wait. Those in favour of postponement argue that young school children already have a lot more other learning activities like how to read, write and count which should take precedence over second language learning. In short, they feel that the native language should come first. What is more, they also argue that learning a foreign language may not be helpful to each and everyone, so it is waste time teaching a skill that for many will be redundant later in life.

(To write a band 7 body passage 1 follow this you need to follow these steps:
1. Design your paragraph in 90-100 words with 4-5 sentences.
2. Write this paragraph on other side viewHere it is Why children should start learning foreign language from secondary school"
3. Start your first line with main idea of paragraph. Develop in next sentence. Study my first two sentences with this observation.
4. Your next sentences should be on the same side and should develop the argument by further explanation and providing example to support it.
5.Your body passage-1 should have Distancing Language" to show case your grammatical range. Follow my orange colored phrases to do this. To learn it more in depth ping me here...I'm interested in learning more.

Body Passage 2

However, I believe that second language learning should begin at primary school. It is a fact that the earlier a child learns a language, the more proficiently they will eventually be able to speak it. Research has shown that before puberty, children have a unique ability to acquire language by simply being exposed to related resources, which is a skill that ends in adolescence. Moreover, in my opinion, children who learn language at early age, often overcomes the fear associates with speaking in a foreign tongue.  For instance, they do not hesitate in trying new words or asking meaning to others, which adults usually do. However, perhaps my strongest argument for starting early is that learning a foreign language provides children with range of other cognitive skills. Bilingual children are known to perform better in problem solving tasks and have more creativity than their monolingual counterparts, which are desirable skills for children of any age, so learning a foreign language at early age will eventually help young children in developing other skills too.

To write a band 7 body passage 2 you need to follow these steps:
1. Design your paragraph in 90-100 words with 4-5 sentences.
2. Write this paragraph on your own view. Here it is Why children should start learning foreign language from primary school".
3. The first sentence should be about the main idea of paragraph, which should further be supported by explanation and example.
4. This paragraph should clearly mention your own position. Use the phrases like “I believe, I opine, In my point of view, my argument is " and so on to do this.

Conclusion
In conclusion, although young children already have a lot of learning loads, learning a foreign language has many positive impacts by developing cognitive learning and improving child’s overall education. Therefore, on balance, I strongly believe that children should start learning a second language at primary school rather than waiting till secondary school.

To write a band 7 conclusion you need to follow these steps:
1. Write a conclusion of 2-3 sentences.
2. The first sentence should eb the summary of main ideas of both paragraphs.
3. Final statement should reflect your position clearly.

Read this response and write your own answer and compare it with this suggestions.

Many people today have jobs that involve shift work. Do the advantages of these jobs outweigh the disadvantages?

Many people today have jobs that involve shift work.

Do the advantages of these jobs outweigh the disadvantages?

Person running on clock, shift jobs, IELTS essay, band 7 essays for ielts

There are many people who have jobs that require them to work outside conventional office hours. However, although shift work offers employees a number of advantages, I believe that the negative impacts it has on people’s health and relationships are far greater.

On the one hand, it cannot be denied that shift work is financially rewarding. Employers understand that people don’t want to work anti-social hours, so they usually pay more for evening, weekend and night shifts. Another plus point is being able to combine work with study. Shift workers can attend class during the day and earn money to pay for their education at night. Finally, there is the benefit of travelling to and from work during off-peak hours, when there is less traffic on the road and, therefore, less congestion.

However, despite these positives, I believe that there are far more damaging negatives associated with working shifts. First, shift work can make it difficult to maintain personal relationships. Not only do shift workers spend less time with their families in the evenings, they are also likely to be tired and irritable when they do see them, which can lead to arguments and even divorce. I feel that maintaining healthy family connections is much more important than avoiding traffic. However, the most significant argument against working nights is the impact that it can have on a person’s health. Depression can become a problem as sleeping during the day goes against our natural body clock and can leave people feeling permanently jet lagged. Even worse, workplace accidents are much more likely to occur during the small hours of the morning than during the day and, in my opinion, no amount of extra pay is worth risking your life for.

To sum up, while shift workers can earn high salaries and gain an education, they are also more likely to suffer from serious health conditions or have a workplace accident. Therefore, in my opinion, the upsides of working shifts do not outweigh the downsides.
