1.  There seems to be an increasing trend towards assessing students through exams rather than continual assessment. What are the advantages and disadvantages of exams as a form of assessment?

3.  School should teach subjects that are needed for academic success and to pass examinations. Practical life skills such as cookery, dressmaking and wood crafting should be taught at home, by family and friends. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

 

4.  First impressions are often considered to be important. Some people think that doing well in interviews is how you secure a good job. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

 

5.  In some countries, people these days spend very little time with their children. What are the causes of this? Whom does this affect more, parents or children?


6.  Nowadays many teenagers have a celebrity who they follow as a role model. Some people think this is not a good idea, because celebrities often set a bad example. Do you agree or disagree?


7.  Some people believe that educational qualifications are important to succeed in           life. Others believe that this is not the only way to become successful person.             Discuss both the views and give your opinion.
